The Property Inspection Industry and Selecting an
Inspector
There are a
number of professional associations within the property inspection industry.
Professional property inspectors will typically belong to one or more such
organization.
Noteworthy
Property Inspections is a
Certified CREIA Inspector Member of the California Real Estate
Inspection Association (CREIA). CREIA members abide by published Standards
of Practice and Ethics in the performance of their work, and commit to
meeting certain continuing education requirements each year.
Typically,
professional property inspectors may meet the following requirements:

a background
in engineering and/or construction

obtained
formal property inspection training
-
carry general
and professional liability insurance
-
be Certified
by a reputable professional organization such as CREIA
When you hire a
property inspector you are buying the home inspector's broad knowledge base.
